The pottery that I make is guided by a curiosity about how the shape of a piece might tie to its surface treatment. Function guides the boundaries. The color pallet and process comes out of aesthetic need.

Simply put, I strive to make work that "feels right" at a given moment. The attempt is to create unique, well-conceived clay objects. It is a quest that continues to be motivating and challenging after many years working in clay.

The ultimate goal and ideal is to create engaging ceramic works with qualities that will enrich the viewer's life.

These pots are wheel thrown and slab built. The glazes and slips are well known but applied to surface geometry. They are high temperature salt-fired.
